I’m Building an Open Source PDF Toolkit in Flutter β€” Looking for Contributors

πŸš€ OpenPDF Tools – An Open Source PDF Toolkit

GitHub:
https://github.com/AHS-Mobile-Labs/openpdf_tools

Ihave started building an open source PDF toolkit using Flutter and Dart. The idea is simple: create one powerful, clean, cross-platform PDF tool that includes all the essential features people actually need.

Right now, I’m working on this solo and the project is still in its early stage β€” but the vision is big.

🎯 What I Want to Build

A complete PDF utility app that can:

Compress PDF

Merge & Split PDFs

Edit PDFs

Convert PDF to Image / Text (and vice versa)

Add watermark

Rotate pages

Extract pages

And many more features over time

The goal is to make it work across:

Android (Play Store release planned)

Linux

Windows

mac

Ios

web

Everything built with Flutter for a clean cross-platform experience.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Current Status

The base structure is being developed. I’m focusing on:

Modular architecture

Clean UI

Scalable feature system

Open source transparency

It’s still early, which means this is the perfect time to join and help shape the direction of the project.

🀝 Looking for Contributors

If you are:

Learning Flutter

Wanting to contribute to open source

Building your GitHub profile

Interested in real-world collaboration

Or just want to work on something useful

You’re welcome.

This can be:

A hobby project

A learning opportunity

A way to improve your coding skills

A meaningful open source contribution

Even small contributions matter.

πŸ’‘ Why This Project?

PDF tools are everywhere, but many are paid, limited, or closed source. I want to build something open, transparent, and useful for everyone.

If we build it together, it can become something truly valuable for the community.
