This is a submission for the DEV's Worldwide Show and Tell Challenge Presented by Mux
What We Built
Jots is a web app to help developers boost their critical thinking skills using our reflection engine, flexible journaling/reflection options and dev-centric integrations such as VSCode and Github.
In the Age of AI, critical thinking is no longer optional, it’s becoming a competitive edge and our tool helps you skill up.

For testing, you can simply create an account with email and password to access the features.
Otherwise we have a demo user you can use. Please reach out directly to @javz so we can share the login details with you securely.
The Story Behind It
Loic and I are both software engineers and we are constantly absorbing a high amount of information to keep up with the trends and technologies. We felt like we needed a tool to help us digest this information by prompting us with the right questions so we can reflect and think in the right way to learn better and become more productive. Jots was born from this need.
Technical Highlights
- Next.js app deployed on Vercel
- Supabase for user auth + Postgres persistence
- Lexical powering the rich-text editor experience
- EasyCron to trigger background maintenance and scheduled tasks
- OpenAI API for chat-driven features and automated writing assistance
