Hi! I'm Jorge Guillem Najarro, a developer from Catarroja (Valencia, Spain). For the past months I've been building SynBio Studio, an integrated development environment for synthetic biology. I'm sharing it here to get feedback from developers and biologists before the public release.
What it does
- BioScript: a domain-specific language for describing genetic designs (parts, devices, circuits) as code.
- Rust language server (LSP): real-time diagnostics for BioScript.
- SBOL Visual canvas: see and edit designs with standard SBOL Visual glyphs.
- Standards export: SBOL and SBML.
- Simulation: deterministic ODE, stochastic SSA and flux balance analysis (FBA).
- Biosafety screening of designs.
- Opentrons export to go from design toward lab automation protocols.

Status
SynBio Studio will be open source under AGPL-3.0. The repository is not public yet while I prepare the release.
What I'd love feedback on
- Does a "code-first" language make sense for your genetic design workflow?
- Which standards/tools should it interoperate with next?
- Anyone interested in trying it early (labs, iGEM teams, students)?
