How to Design a Simple Circle Chain using 3D CAD Software
Designing a simple circle chain in SelfCAD offers a clear illustration of how small, repetitive forms can be transformed into a coherent and visually appealing 3D structure. Although each link is nothing more than a basic circular shape, arranging them into an interlocking chain requires attention to spacing, rotation, and dimensional consistency. SelfCAD’s modeling environment makes this process accessible by providing precise controls for duplicating, aligning, and modifying objects, allowing the designer to focus on both accuracy and aesthetics. Through the careful creation of a single link and the thoughtful repetition of its form, the chain gradually takes shape, revealing how complex-looking results can emerge from simple building blocks. This article explores the step-by-step method for constructing a circle chain in SelfCAD, highlighting how even a straightforward project can strengthen essential 3D modeling skills and deepen understanding of geometric relationships within a 3D workspace
