POWER BI

Data modeling in Power bi is the process of structuring, organizing, and defining relationships between your data tables so they can be accurately analyzed and visualized.
There are different Schemas in data analysis; they are Star Schema and Snowflake Schema. Star Schema entails a fact table (central table) surrounded by many dimensional tables.Dimensional tables are joined to the central table using one to many relationship, many to one relationship or one to one. In one to many relationships one record can be attributed to many other records and vice versa . In one to one one record can be attributed to another record. This is possible by having primary key columns and foreign key columns..Furthermore, one is able to move from one table to another through a defined direction.

This is a diagram showing Star schema

Snowflake Schema is built on Star Schema’s structure but the dimensional tables are joined to other subdimensional tables through table relationships.

This is a diagram showing Snowflake Schema

In power bi there different types of joins they include

-Inner Join
This is where two tables are joined through a common column in both tables.
-Left Join
This is where the table on the left is joined to the table on the right through a common column. The empty cells in the left table will be joined to the right and they will be highlighted as NULL.
-Right Join
This is where the table on the right is joined to the table on the left through a common column. The empty cells in the right table will be joined to the left and they will be highlighted as NULL.
-full outer join
It joins both the tables from the left and right.

This diagram shows all types of joins
