Nevertheless, Laura Coded in 2022

Hello!
I'm Laura López, a telecommunications Engineer, turned into a data scientist, I write a blog called "Al mal tiempo, buena data" and photography lover. I'm from Medellín, Colombia.

I started my tech career as a Test Engineering Analyst for a telecommunications company and then I turned into a data scientist which is what I love to do.

The process was difficult but I really enjoyed it and I could not have done it without the help of communities in my city that support women in technology. This is why I want to talk a little about them.

So here goes.

Pyladies Medellín

Pyladies is a community with the objective of teaching and promoting the presence of women in the technology industry. This is a group that aims to provide a female-friendly support network for starting Python programming.

Women Who Code Medellín

WWCode Medellín is a community made up of women passionate about programming and technology. With workshops, meetups, and study groups, this community is dedicated to inspiring women to excel in technology careers by creating a global, interconnected community.

Data Science Fem

Data Science Fem provides opportunities for women from any profession to start their careers in data science. It's a wonderful community that provides support and spaces to share knowledge among its members.

AWS Women Colombia

It's a community of women passionate about Cloud Computing technologies that seek to encourage more women to learn and implement AWS cloud services, as well as promote the inclusion of women in the world of technology.

There are many more communities that support women in technology and I'm proud to be an active member and support them so that more women are encouraged to start their careers in the technology industry.

We are not alone, there are many communities of wonderful women who are here to give you a hand if you need it, cheer up and be part of this incredible world of technology.
