I came across The Odin Project just a few days ago. I've started learning Ruby, and as you said "over abundance of resources" was confusing, until I found TOP. (Unlike Odin, lot of resources from Official Ruby page are unreachable or outdated)
I see where you are getting at, but 'unreachable or outdated' does fall in that overabundance category. The resources may be good or bad, still there's just too many and that's what TOP helped me with, picking the good ones. ;)
