A broken permalink on your WordPress website will cause your web pages to display an error 404. In WordPress, you can reset the permalinks by following the steps below:

You should always create a backup of your website before troubleshooting it so that it can be restored if something goes wrong.

Login to WordPress.
Go to Settings >> Permalinks.
Modify the permalinks structure to – ‘Plain’.
Click on ‘Save Changes’.

You should now see the permalinks you selected displayed in the URL of your website pages.
