How it began
I've been part of Code Your Future since April 2025 as a trainee. I first did Intro to Digital, then progressed to Intro to Programming, and was done with that by August 2025. I had a chance to move on to one of the very final phases, the software development course but I was feeling burnt out and frustrated after learning so much programming concepts in 2025 (it was my first time).
And also I was in need of cash, stable income for bills, so balancing learning and feeling a bit anxious about my next rent and bills was not a fancy combo. But by August of 2025 or thereabouts, I had already learned to develop my own website www.mirabellemorah.com with HTML/CSS and bits of JavaScript. I also modelled the 3D objects you see in the image, below, myself using a 3D modelling software called Blender.
And I'd also designed in 2025 a bunch of 16 other websites after taking SuperHi's course on web development. I'm very interested in being a creative technologist with a focus on software development, design and human/behavioral psychology (a lot of words but it just means I enjoy making designs and software for human beings). I love that and I'm constantly improving at that. I pick up skills in installation and immersive media very quickly. I'm a motion designer and so I've also tried TouchDesigner, p5.js, Resolume, etc. I love them! Art + Technology
Week 1 as a Software Development Trainee
I have finally decided to come back to Code Your Future, and after passing my checkpoint this June 2026, I've just began my journey to becoming a software engineer as a trainee now.
What I'm focusing on.
For week 1, I'm studying the book "How Computers Really Work". I'm trying to balance my time between creating client work, and also studying for the recommended 20 hours. I think I've got a hang of this now.
Challenges
I do not have the strongest grasp of JavaScript yet, so I've started learning JavaScript from Scrimba and I'm loving it!
