I Built a Laravel Multi-Tenant SaaS Starter Kit With 88 Automated Tests

A practical Laravel 13 SaaS starter kit featuring organization-based multi-tenancy, secure team invitations, role-based access control, and 88 automated tests for tenant isolation.

Stop Rebuilding the Same SaaS Infrastructure in Laravel

Starting a new SaaS project is exciting. Rebuilding organizations, memberships, roles, invitations, and workspace switching for the fifth time? Not so much.

And there is one part you really cannot afford to get wrong: tenant isolation.

If one customer can access another customer's data because of a missing query scope or authorization check, you have a serious security problem.

That's why I built the Laravel Multi-Tenant SaaS Starter Kit.

What's included?

The goal was simple: create a reusable foundation for developers who want to spend less time rebuilding infrastructure and more time shipping their actual product.

The starter kit includes:

  • Laravel 13 with organization-based multi-tenancy.
  • Role-based access control with owner, admin, and member roles.
  • Secure team invitations with hashed tokens, expiration, revocation, and replay protection.
  • Workspace switching with server-side membership validation.
  • Tenant-scoped project management with search, filtering, pagination, and CRUD operations.
  • 88 automated tests and 212 assertions, including cross-tenant access and authorization tests.
  • Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js for the dashboard.
  • DDEV configuration for a reproducible local development environment.

The included tests cover scenarios such as users attempting to access another organization's projects, tampering with membership permissions, or abusing workspace switching.

The idea is to make security boundaries testable from the beginning rather than relying on good intentions.

See it before you buy it

I made a live demo so you can explore the interface before deciding whether the starter kit fits your workflow.

Who is it for?

This starter kit is designed for Laravel developers, freelancers, small agencies, and SaaS founders building applications where users belong to separate organizations or workspaces.

It is a foundation, not a complete SaaS platform. Billing, subscriptions, analytics, and payment integrations are intentionally excluded so you can extend it around your own requirements.

Get the starter kit

The download includes the application source code, migrations, factories, demo seed data, automated tests, documentation, DDEV configuration, and a commercial license.

Instead of starting from an empty project, you get a working foundation to inspect, test, and customize.

I'd also like to hear from other Laravel developers: what is the most time-consuming part of setting up a new SaaS project?
