a full-stack web developer trying to keep my focus on dev-ops from getting me siloed.
Background
This Hacktoberfest I contributed to 2 different repos, with two very different managing institutions. One, Mattermost Inc, is a a startup with over 1 hundred full time employees and millions of dollars in funding. The other, tridactyl, is a volunteer community. Even though these managing institutions are quite different, my interactions with both were uniformly delightful.

Reflections
I was extremely impressed by the welcoming, friendly, and professional interactions I had during Hacktoberfest. I'm excited to see how many friends and coworkers I can get to start contributing to open source with me.
