Moustaqim is a multilingual Islamic platform that gathers essential resources in one place: the Quran with translations, prayer times, a large database of Muslim names, a hadith encyclopedia and an Islamic dictionary. The English portal and the French root site are free to use, without ads walls.
What you can find
- Quran: every surah in Arabic with translations, designed for comfortable reading on desktop and mobile.
- Prayer times: daily schedules computed by location, useful at home and while travelling.
- Muslim names: thousands of names with Arabic script, transliteration, meaning and gender.
- Hadith encyclopedia: narrations organized by collection, with context.
- Islamic dictionary: short, reliable definitions for terms like tawhid, zakat or ijma.
Open source
The project publishes datasets and tools under open licenses on GitHub:
- moustaqim - the main repository describing the platform and its datasets.
- muslim-names-dataset - a CC0 sample dataset of Muslim names (JSON), ready to reuse in any project.
If you build Islamic apps or just need structured data, the names dataset is a good starting point, and the full platform offers thousands more entries with search and filters.
Feedback
Issues and pull requests on the GitHub repositories are welcome. Suggestions for new languages or datasets are welcome too: the goal is a free, structured and multilingual reference for the Muslim community.
