Organised by Indian Data Club & Codebasics, Sponsored by Databricks
I’ve registered for the 14 Days Databricks AI Challenge – 2 (Advanced), and before the challenge officially begins, I’m currently working through Day 0, which is defined as a prerequisite in the roadmap.
Day 0 focuses on setup and data loading. This includes configuring the Databricks workspace, setting up Kaggle API access, creating database schemas and volumes, and loading an e-commerce dataset into the lakehouse. If this sounds familiar, it should. It closely mirrors Day 0 from the first challenge.
What’s different this time is not the steps, but the perspective.
Repeating the same setup highlights how foundational decisions quietly influence everything that follows. Clean schemas, predictable storage, and verified data structures reduce friction later when pipelines, transformations, and analysis become more complex. These steps rarely feel exciting, but they often decide whether downstream work is reliable or fragile.
This phase isn’t about getting ahead or rushing into results. It’s about aligning with the roadmap, revisiting fundamentals with intent, and entering the challenge with fewer unknowns.
The challenge hasn’t started yet. For now, the focus is on preparation, structure, and clarity.
Day 1 will build on this foundation.
