I wanted to understand how asynchronous, non-blocking I/O works under the hood of frameworks like Netty, so I built a lightweight HTTP/1.1 web server from scratch with zero external dependencies so I built NIO-Pulse.
What is NIO-Pulse?
Traditional web servers use a thread per connection architecture, which easily bottlenecks under heavy concurrent loads. NIO-Pulse uses an event-driven Selector architecture and a worker thread pool to manage thousands of concurrent connections efficiently.
