After moving from Windows to the Mac, the tool I missed most was WinSCP. So I built syncSCP: a native macOS file manager and SSH terminal for SFTP, SCP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV and S3, with WinSCP's two-pane Commander workflow. It is free and open source (GPL-3.0).
Features
- Two-pane Commander: session tabs, directory tree, Compare Directories, Find Files, bookmarks, Quick Look, ⌘K Quick Open
- SFTP, SCP (also through
sudo su -), FTP/FTPS, WebDAV and S3 - Background transfers with automatic retry; SFTP resumes partial files
- Two-way synchronization and Keep Remote Directory up to Date (FSEvents)
- Built-in SSH terminal with tabs, split panes, find, snippets, and port forwarding
- Import from Windows WinSCP (also under Wine/Whisky) and
~/.ssh/config, including passphrase-protected PuTTY keys - Opt-in saved passwords in the Keychain with Touch ID
-
syncscpCLI for scripts, in the style of winscp.com
How it's built
SwiftUI + AppKit for the UI. SFTP v3 is spoken directly over the system /usr/bin/ssh; FTP, WebDAV and S3 go through a small C bridge to the system libcurl, with S3 SigV4 in CryptoKit. The terminal uses SwiftTerm. Passphrase-protected PuTTY keys needed an Argon2 implementation, checked against the RFC 9106 test vectors. Integration tests run against disposable local SSH, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV and MinIO servers.
Try it
brew install --cask oguzhankrcb/tap/syncscp
Or download the signed and notarized app from the releases. Source: https://github.com/oguzhankrcb/syncSCP
It's a development preview, so feedback is very welcome.
