We urge you to carefully read the terms and conditions of this Contest Landing Page located here and the Major League Hacking PBC Inc General Contest Official Rules located here ("Official Rules"), incorporated herein by reference. The following contest specific details on this Contest Announcement Page, together with the Official Rules, govern your participation in the named contest defined below (the "Contest").

Sponsor does not claim ownership rights in your Entry. The Official Rules describe the rights you give to Sponsor by submitting an Entry to participate in the named Contest. In the event of a conflict between the terms of this Contest Announcement Page and the Official Rules, the Official Rules will govern and control.

Contest Name: Presage SmartSpectra SDK Challenge
Entry Period: The Contest begins on November 4, 2026 at 2:00 PM PST and ends on November 22, 2026 at 11:59 PM PST (the "Entry Period")

How to Enter: All entries must be submitted no later than the end of the Entry Period. You may enter the Contest during the Entry Period as follows:

  1. Visit the Contest webpage part of the DEV Community Site located here (the "Contest Page"); and
  2. Follow any instructions on the Contest Page and submit your completed entry (each an "Entry").

You may submit one (1) Entry during the Entry Period. In the event that a participant submits more than one Entry, only the first Entry submitted will be considered for judging. Team Entries are not permitted. Each Entry must be submitted by and represent the work of a single individual.

Prize Categories: In addition to being considered for an overall winner spot, an Entry may be entered into one or both of the following prize categories by noting them in the submission post:

  • Most Creative or Delightful Use
  • Best Thoughtful Real-World Use

An Entry may be eligible for an overall winner spot and both prize categories at once, but each Entry can win only once.

Required Elements for Entries: Without limiting any terms of the Official Rules, each Entry must include, at a minimum, the following elements:

  • A published submission post on DEV that uses the submission template and unique challenge tag provided on the Contest Page.
  • A functional app that integrates the Presage SmartSpectra SDK and uses at least one live Presage signal, such as pulse, breathing rate, HRV, or expressions.
  • A link to a public code repository, setup instructions, and a demo video. Public hosting of the app is optional.
  • An explanation of how the app obtains camera consent and handles data, including disclosure of any storage, sharing, retention, deletion, SDK telemetry, or optional AI service use.

Prohibited Content: Entries may not include diagnosis or treatment claims, medical decision-making, or covert or non-consensual monitoring. Entries that do will be disqualified.

Judging Criteria: All qualified entries will be judged by a panel as selected by Sponsor as set forth in the Official Rules.

Judges will verify use of the Presage SmartSpectra SDK by reviewing each Entry's public code repository and demo video. Entries that do not demonstrate a functional SmartSpectra SDK integration using at least one live Presage signal may be disqualified.

Judges will award ten winners (four overall winners, three Most Creative or Delightful Use winners, and three Best Thoughtful Real-World Use winners) based on the following criteria:

  • Use of Underlying Technology
  • Usability and User Experience
  • Originality and Creativity

In the event of a tie in scoring between judges, the judges will select the entry that received the highest number of positive reactions on their DEV post to determine the winner.

Overall Winners (4) will each receive:

  • $300 USD
  • DEV++ Membership
  • Exclusive DEV Badge

Most Creative or Delightful Use Winners (3) will each receive:

  • $300 USD
  • DEV++ Membership
  • Exclusive DEV Badge

Best Thoughtful Real-World Use Winners (3) will each receive:

  • $300 USD
  • DEV++ Membership
  • Exclusive DEV Badge

Participant Winner (who submits a valid and qualified entry) will receive:

  • A completion badge on their DEV profile
