I wanted a simple API that opens a page in a real browser and returns the rendered content. Most sites hide the useful HTML until JavaScript runs, so a normal fetch is not enough.
Browser API is that project. The API is Fastify and TypeScript. Playwright runs Chromium, opens the URL, and can return HTML, metadata, and a screenshot. Customers sign in with Clerk and get an API key. Stripe Checkout moves them from the free plan to Starter or Pro, and a webhook updates the daily limit.
The limits in the code are:
Free: 10 requests/day
Starter: 1,000 requests/day
Pro: 10,000 requests/day
The repo also has the Next.js site: landing page, sign-in, sign-up, and dashboard. Postgres is set up with Prisma. There is a Dockerfile for the API and a buyer setup guide.
I am selling the source code, not a hosted API. You connect your own database, Stripe account, and Clerk application. No seller keys are included. Checkout still redirects to localhost until you change those two strings to your own site. That is documented in the setup guide.
Launch price is $79, then it goes back to $129.
