This week has been an epic development one for me. My multi-journal app now has system tray quick entry, shortcuts, automation and Apple platforms widget support. It feels so close to a public beta I can taste it.
Including a custom keyboard shortcut the user can set to add an interstitial one line blog post.

Automation in a journal app is a privacy and recovery problem as much as a convenience feature. A good design exposes what will run, where the entry will land, and how to undo or audit it. That keeps passive capture from creating mysterious data movement.
