Seven AI Agent Automations That Are Safe to Delegate

AI-agent projects become useful when the unit of automation is a bounded workflow rather than an entire role. Seven strong starting points are: source-limited daily briefings, inbox classification with reply drafts, meeting-to-action extraction, document intake and naming, CRM update proposals, recurring metric summaries, and checklist-based content QA.

Each workflow should have four controls: an explicit input boundary, a measurable output, a human approval step for consequential actions, and an audit log. Agents may prepare an email, but should not promise terms. They may reconcile records, but should not approve payments. They may draft a public post, but publication remains a human decision.

Start with one workflow, replay historical cases, then measure time saved and correction rate for two weeks. The practical implementation notes and seven examples are in my Pointchecknote guide: https://pointchecknote.com/en/posts/2026-07-31-ai-agent-automation-ideas/

Disclosure: I publish Pointchecknote.
