Make new kinds of friends.

It helps if the people on said team make more friends outside their normal comfort zone. Think about who you're usually recommending for roles—they're your friends! People you know! So seek out new folks! Can't find new folks? Sponsor local women in tech events, create some internships in partnership with a local high school or college.

There's no easy path here. Everyone has to work hard, from the underrepresented folks trying so hard to the companies looking for them.

But it's a lot easier with friends :)
