A new Pixel keeps its most-used switches one swipe away. Google's Pixel Phone Help says Quick Settings lets you find and change your settings from any screen, and you can add or move the ones you change often. This guide covers opening it, editing it and adding accessibility tiles, following Google's help pages.
Open Quick Settings
- To find your first few settings, swipe down from the top of your screen.
- To find all your Quick Settings, swipe down again.
Google says some of these steps work only on Android 11 and up, so check your Android version if a step doesn't match.
Turn a setting on or off
- Tap the icon to turn a setting on or off. Dimmed settings are off.
- Tap the name of a setting to quickly adjust it.
- Touch and hold a Quick Settings icon to reach its advanced settings.
Add, remove or move a setting
- From the top of your screen, swipe down twice.
- To update the Quick Settings menu, tap Edit.
- To add a setting, scroll down to find all the available settings, then tap Add.
- To remove a setting, tap Remove.
- To reorganize your settings, tap and drag them where you want them.
Google's page shows the Edit, Add and Remove buttons as icons that don't appear in its text, so look for them on your screen.
Resize a setting
- To shrink a setting so it shows only its icon, tap and drag the right side of the icon to the left.
- To show the setting's name, tap and drag the right side of the icon to the right.
Add an accessibility tile
Google's Accessibility Help lists accessibility features you can put in Quick Settings: color correction, color inversion, extra dim, one-handed mode, Live Transcribe, Sound Amplifier, Sound Notifications, Live Caption and Hearing Devices. Google says this works directly from Settings on Android 15 and up:
- Open Settings, then tap Accessibility.
- Select the feature you want to add as a tile.
- Turn on Quick settings shortcut.
- Swipe down from the top of your screen to open Quick Settings.
If you can't find the shortcut switch, Google says that feature isn't convertible to a Quick Settings tile.
Where to find more Pixel tips
Google's English (Australia) version of the page adds a path to more tips. Open Settings and scroll down. On Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, tap Device health and then Tips and support. On Pixel 9a and earlier, tap Tips and support and then Explore Pixel Tips.
A new-Pixel Quick Settings plan
- Keep: the switches you use every day, near the top.
- Remove: any tile you never touch.
- Resize: shrink small tiles to icons so more fit.
- Add: an accessibility tile if you use one.
Troubleshooting
- A setting seems missing: Google says that if several settings are on, your phone sometimes hides icons to save space. Look for a dot at the top of the screen.
- A tile appeared from an app: Google says some apps ask to add their icon as a tile. You can remove or re-add these at any time.
- A tile won't turn into a shortcut: see the accessibility note above.
