A flashcard can look complete and still be hard to trust.
The question and answer are visible, so a quick copy or TSV export often preserves them. The source may live somewhere else in the interface: a document title, a citation reference, a URL or the notebook context. Unless the export maps that information into a field, Anki never receives it.
I prefer a dedicated Source field on the note type. It can be rendered on the back of the card below the answer. That keeps the study surface clean while leaving a path back to the evidence.
Before studying, inspect three cards from different parts of the deck. Confirm that the source belongs to the correct card and that any URL opens the intended material.
Full disclosure: I built NotebookBloom because I needed this workflow. The field-design advice applies whether the cards come from NotebookBloom, a spreadsheet or a custom script.
Practical checklist
Use a public or non-sensitive notebook for the first test. Verify the output before deleting the intermediate file, and keep the product limitation visible.
