Research tools become difficult to use when collection, organization, citation and study are treated as one giant feature.
The first stage is Collect. Bring source links into a notebook and check what NotebookLM was able to load. The second stage is Organize. Use predictable notebook names, folders, tags and saved records so useful material can be found later.
The third stage is Cite. Export structured source information for Zotero or generate APA, MLA, Chicago and BibTeX references, then verify the metadata. The fourth stage is Study. Export selected flashcards to Anki while preserving the source on each card.
Each stage has a visible result: a source list, an organized saved record, a verified citation or an Anki deck. That makes the workflow easier to debug and easier to learn.
NotebookBloom brings these actions into one panel, but the operating rule stays simple: finish one useful job before opening the next tab.
Practical checklist
Use a public or non-sensitive notebook for the first test. Verify the output before deleting the intermediate file, and keep the product limitation visible.
