Hi There! This is Tamtam.
I'm organizing "Japanglish Tech" event with Naru.
What is Japanglish Tech Talk?
This is an English-only LT event for engineers held in Tokyo, Japan!
It is difficult to speak English in Japan because most conversations are in Japanese.
With this in mind, we are organizing this event to provide a casual opportunity to speak at an LT event in Tokyo.

- youtube
- Speaker: Natty
After transitioning from a frontend engineer to a PM role, their position changed to one where they're evaluated not only on tangible deliverables like coding but also on less visible elements such as problem prevention and progress management.
They need to quickly make priority decisions and decisions while maintaining a bird's-eye view of stakeholders and the entire team, not just parts of development tasks.
As a result, they've developed skills to understand the information and perspectives needed by various stakeholders and to advance projects with a broader vision.

In English vocabulary learning, both efficient memorization through word lists and enjoyable input through extensive reading and listening are important.
However, both learning methods have their advantages and disadvantages, and review and searching for unknown words are essential for effective continuous learning.
Therefore, by utilizing learning tools such as Vocabulary AI apps, real-time word searches and pronunciation checks become possible, enabling more efficient and enjoyable vocabulary enhancement.
Beyond Coding: The Power of Diverse Paths

- Speaker: Mutsumix
The case study of someone who transitioned from the education industry to the tech industry, initially building up fundamental skills in documentation and software testing while learning Java and cloud technologies, and eventually becoming an executive officer, it demonstrated that "paths will open up if you continue learning, regardless of age or previous industry experience."
They emphasized that the key to success was their ability to understand customer needs and balance technical capabilities with requirements, leveraging their past experience in selling Japanese textbooks overseas and diverse work experience.
