No matter the technology, mastering it is always difficult, and Oracle is no exception.
At the core, Oracle is a database software, and in the end, it is just software. The Oracle system is vast and overwhelming. Why is its architecture designed this way, even at the cost of performance? The primary reason is to prioritize data security. Think about it: for any business, data is the most crucial asset. Data loss can be a catastrophic disaster for an enterprise. By the way, this is one of the main reasons why many monopolistic companies, such as those in telecom and finance, use Oracle. I believe there are a few key reasons for this: first, these companies are not lacking in money, no matter how expensive Oracle is; second, these companies view data as vital and place great emphasis on it; third, Oracle provides comprehensive documentation, robust functionality, and has a relatively large pool of professionals. So, these companies choose to use Oracle, which is as powerful as Iron Man.
Why is Oracle so difficult to master? The reason lies in its enormous system, its many derivative technologies, and its vast scope. So, it can be said that even after ten years of dedicated research and continuous practice, one might not be able to claim mastery of Oracle. Furthermore, if someone spends a decade solely focusing on Oracle, they would likely be one of the top experts in the industry. However, how many professionals in China are willing to make that commitment? The number is very few.
Oracle has so many derivative technologies, but when using any technology, we shouldn't just use it for the sake of using it. Instead, we should use it to solve problems. We need to think about why and consider how the underlying systems work. Knowing how to use the software is the basic requirement, but solving various problems is what truly tests the skills of a DBA.
The primary responsibility of a DBA is to ensure the integrity and security of the data. This is a responsibility of the utmost importance, and every operation should not be taken lightly. Be careful about every step you take!
"Focus with dedication and persevere." This is one of my favorite sayings. I wish everyone perseverance and success on the path to mastering Oracle, continually improving and reaching new heights!
