Working from home has become compulsory for every developers due to prevalence of COVID – 19.
Being healthy and stay fit is a bit challenging while staying at home.
Fortunately, there are plenty of ways you can stay healthy and fit at home.

06 Useful Tips for Staying Healthy and Fit

1. Stick to an Active Routine

As you may not be able to follow your normal routine plan, you can create a new routine for home to keep yourself active.
Stretching on your bedroom when you wake-up or set a half an hour daily as per your convenience will do the job.
While working on your computer get up after every hour and move or pace around for 5 to 10 minutes or do 10-20 jumping jacks.
Or moderate stretching or yoga style movement will be beneficial for improving mood and maintaining a good blood circulation.

2. Eat Healthy

Eating right and in right proportion is essential to provide required nutrition to your body.
Avoiding junk foods, and sugary drinks will save you from the unhealthy additions.
Adding following foods will help you to keep energize and for improving proper body functioning. 
• Fruits - apple, orange, avocado, pomegranate, grapefruit etc.
• Vegetables - cucumber, tomato, spinach, coriander, carrot etc.
• Nuts - walnut, almonds, cashews etc.
• Seeds – flaxseeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds etc.
• Drinks such as coffee, green tea, lemon juice, cumin water etc.

3. Drink Adequate Water

Staying hydrated is the key for healthy living and well-being. But many people don’t consume enough water each day.
It is recommended to drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day and can be easily achieved while staying at home.
Also there is no alternative of water and it is crucial for proper functioning of the cells and organs of the body. It is essential for many important functions of the body such as flushing out waste through urination, regulating body temperature, improving digestion, helping the brain function etc.

4. Meditate Daily

Meditation is the process of training your mind to become thoughtless and let yourself cut off from surroundings.
During meditation, every cell in the body is filled with more energy which enhances awareness and develop concentration.
It helps your mind to be in a state of mental clarity to deal with stress, alongside reducing depression, anxiety and promotes emotional health.

5. Detoxify your Body

Detoxifying your body is one of the important steps to keep yourself healthy. Your body need detoxification to throw out the harmful toxins.
To do this you have to consume foods high in prebiotics, and antioxidant and eliminate unhealthy foods such as alcohol, processed foods, and foods high in sugar and salt.
This helps to cut down the toxins from your body thus making the body disease free and improving your ability to maintain optimum health.

6. Sleep Well

Ensuring adequate and quality sleep each night is a must to support your body’s health and recharge your own energy.
Poor sleep can lead to short and long-term health issues such as stress, high blood pressure, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity.
Therefore following a healthy sleeping becomes the most important.
It is recommended to sleep for seven to nine hours per night on a regular basis to promote good health.
