When I review documentation, the hardest part usually isn’t understanding the logic.
It’s trusting the numbers.
Specs often come from different sources, different people, and sometimes different time periods. Everything looks reasonable at first glance, but once in a while something feels slightly off — not obviously wrong, just questionable.
I’ve learned not to overthink it. Instead, I pick one or two values and do a quick unit check to see if the scale makes sense in context. If the numbers line up, I keep reading. If they don’t, I slow down and look more carefully.
Most of the time, this small habit catches issues early without breaking my flow.
Occasionally, I use a simple page like https://mmtocm.net
to double-check a value, then move on. The page itself isn’t important — the habit is.
