When narrative content drives a physical actuator, three interrupt paths look like "just restore state" until they are not: an Accessibility Zoom / Magnifier / VoiceOver (or TalkBack) takeover mid-session, a Live Activity / Dynamic Island / ongoing activity UI expand, and an outbound system Share Sheet opened from the controlling app. Each needs a default that fails closed — toward idle, toward re-arm only after a named beat, toward interrupt-clear ≠ motor authority.
on accessibility_zoom_magnifier_or_voiceover_started():
ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary)
armed = false
on accessibility_feature_turned_off():
# a11y layer cleared ≠ motor envelope restored
await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm()
on live_activity_or_dynamic_island_appeared():
ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary)
armed = false
on live_activity_dismissed_or_collapsed():
# activity UI cleared ≠ motor authority
await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm()
on outbound_share_sheet_opened_from_controlling_app():
ramp_to(IDLE, at=next_beat_boundary)
armed = false
on share_sheet_canceled_or_dismissed():
# send UI gone ≠ previous intensity restored
await user_resume(); await next_named_beat(); arm()
The accessibility-overlay rule is easy to mix up with voice-assistant takeovers and Guided Access / Screen Time limits. Voice-assistant takeover is a mic / assistant session that steals focus. Guided Access or Screen Time locks the user into (or out of) an app by policy. Accessibility Zoom, Magnifier, and VoiceOver / TalkBack are system a11y lens or speech layers. Turning them off clears that layer; it must not restore motor authority.
The Live Activity / Dynamic Island rule sits next to — but is not — Control Center shade, Picture-in-Picture / floating video, push-notification open, or alarm interrupt. Control Center is a system shade. PiP is a foreign floating-video plane. Push-open resumes an app from a notification. Alarm is a timed interrupt. Live Activity / Dynamic Island is an ongoing-activity surface. Collapsing it clears the activity UI; it must not restore motor authority.
The outbound Share Sheet rule is a send-UI interrupt opened from the controlling app, not an inbound AirDrop / share-receive, and not opening a shared deep link that was never motor authority. Inbound share-receive is content arriving. Share deep-link open is a link landing. Opening the OS Share Sheet to send content out is an interrupt on the controlling app's own flow. Cancel / dismiss only clears the send UI; it must not restore motor authority.
Buyers can test all three without code: start Accessibility Zoom or VoiceOver mid-session and see whether turning it off restarts intensity, expand a Live Activity / Dynamic Island then collapse it and watch whether motors re-arm, and open the Share Sheet from the controlling app then cancel. These map to questions like "how do AI stories control physical devices" and "Lovense alternative with AI stories."
