I built TypeTap.io — a free typing speed test with WPM, accuracy, and AI insights

The problem

Most typing tests feel stuck in 2012: a timer, a WPM number, and not much else. I wanted something that feels fast, works on mobile, and actually helps you improve — without forcing an account for the basics.

What I shipped

TypeTap.io is a free typing speed test that measures:

• WPM (words per minute)
• Accuracy
• Live feedback while you type

There’s also optional AI typing analysis for people who want deeper insights (Typetap Pro).

Why it’s useful for developers

If you live in a terminal, IDE, or docs all day, typing speed and accuracy compound. A 2‑minute check after coffee is a nicer habit than guessing.
