The AWS MCP Server is now available in six more AWS Regions... Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, Ireland, London, and Oregon. If you're using AWS in one of those regions, and working with AI coding assistants (Claude, Codex, Cursor, Kiro, etc), this is for you. Read more... 👇
In case you haven't heard of it before, the AWS MCP Server is a managed, remote server that gives AI agents secure access to AWS through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Agents can execute AWS CLI commands, search AWS documentation, and follow curated skills.
If the Agent Toolkit for AWS is new to you, it's the collection of tools AWS put together to help you build AI agents that actually work with AWS... the MCP Server is one piece of it. Check it out here 👉 https://go.aws/4ehQKmJ
The reason this regional expansion is likely important to you... you can now run the AWS MCP Server and Agent Toolkit closer to where you're building on AWS. This means you'll benefit from lower latency, and your request data stays in the Region so you can meet data residency requirements. If you think about a team in London pointing their agents at a local endpoint to build, inspect running workloads, and debug failures... this means there are no routing requests being sent halfway around the world. Even less time working on what matters to you, win. Oh, and even though the server runs in those Regions, it can still reach services in ALL commercial AWS Regions.
With the addition of six Regions, the full lineup is at eight! Here's where:
- N. Virginia
- Frankfurt
- Oregon
- Singapore
- Sydney
- Tokyo
- Ireland
- London

If you haven't started using the AWS MCP Server or Agent Toolkit on AWS, I recommend setting up your agents to use these if you're building on AWS. Get started by running this command in your AWS CLI (v2.35+):
aws configure agent-toolkit
