The last series mapped the patches as they landed.

This series is the next angle: what it is like to operate after those patches have been live long enough to stop being news.

  • Part 1 — The regime is no longer new (this post)
  • Part 2 — TWAP60 after a month: what still breaks
  • Part 3 — Delay, quotas, and fill quality in production
  • Part 4 — Distractions that still are not the 5m core
  • Part 5 — The September operating checklist for abrownfox001

The Patches Are Now the Floor

By late September 2026, these are not upcoming changes. They are the default environment:

Rule Status
5m / 15m / 4h crypto Up/Down settle on 60s Chainlink TWAP live
RTDS streams that TWAP without separate Chainlink creds live
Volume-tier CLOB rate limits live
Crypto taker delay raised to 150ms (Sept 4) live
Combos / RFQ on Polymarket US live
Agent connectors (e.g. Exa Connect) live

A bot that still talks about “when TWAP arrives” is documenting last quarter.

What “Normal” Means Now

Normal is no longer last-tick 5m BTC.

Normal is:

  • official path is a rolling 60-second average
  • open and close belong to that same family
  • taker flow waits longer on purpose
  • cancel storms hit a quota wall
  • new products exist beside the 5m book and do not replace it

The @abrownfox001 design still fits that floor:

  • BTC 5m specialist
  • mid-band 45–55¢
  • scratch decaying tickets
  • redeem the filtered book

The environment around that design is what this series measures.

The Operator Split I Keep Seeing

Two groups of builders after the patch window:

Group A — patched the story

  • renamed a feed to TWAP
  • kept CEX-close labels
  • kept t=0 lifts
  • kept cancel-spam as risk control

Group B — patched the state machine

  • pin 60s open and 60s live
  • refuse stale RTDS
  • re-fit thresholds after the delay change
  • log fill quality instead of assuming July numbers

Only Group B is in the current market. Group A is running a memorial service for snapshot 5m.

What This Series Will Not Do

It will not:

  • relaunch the README as five more architecture posts
  • treat Combos as the new 5m strategy
  • claim the 150-market 60.7% sample is a September audit
  • pretend latency stopped mattering because settlement is an average

TWAP killed a specific exploit. It did not make execution free.

The Question for the Next Four Posts

After a month on the new floor, the only useful questions are operational:

  1. Where do mixed-window bugs still hide?
  2. Did 150ms plus rate tiers change mid-band fill quality enough to move size?
  3. Which new APIs are hygiene versus product FOMO?
  4. What does the live account have to keep proving in public fills?

That is the series.

What Part 2 Covers

Settlement after the honeymoon: the 30s leftovers, stale RTDS, and the exact slot fields a September 5m bot must log or it cannot debug itself.
