CHED Scholarship Application

Are you starting college soon? Consider applying for the CHED Scholarship Program 2023. The CHED Scholarship, also known as StuFAPs, is designed to assist students who are pursuing higher education in authorized public or private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Its mission is to make education accessible, especially to underprivileged and deserving students.

Who Can Apply for the CHED Scholarship 2023?

If you're an incoming first-year college student graduating from Senior High School, you're eligible to apply.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Filipino citizen.
  • Have a good academic record.
  • For Full State Scholarship Program (FSSP) and Full Private Education Student Financial Assistance (FPESPA), your General Weighted Average (GWA) should be 96% or above.
  • For Half-SSP and Half-PESPA, your GWA should be between 93% and 95%.
  • Your parents' or guardians' combined annual gross income should not exceed Php 400,000. Exceptions apply if there's a family member's illness or if two or more dependents are enrolled in college.
  • Avail only one government-funded financial assistance program.

Requirements

To apply, you'll need the following:

  • Proof of citizenship (Certified Birth Certificate).
  • Academic records:
  • High school report card for incoming college freshmen.
  • Grades for Grade 11 and the 1st semester of Grade 12 for graduating high school students.
  • Financial documents:
  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian.
  • Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
  • Certificate of Indigence from your Barangay or Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
  • Case Study report from DSWD.
  • Latest copy of contract or proof of income (for children of Overseas Filipino Workers and seafarers).

Special Groups

If you belong to any of these groups, remember to attach a valid certification:

  • Persons with Disability (PWD) under RA 7277.
  • Solo Parent and/or their dependents under RA 8972.
  • Underprivileged and homeless citizen under RA 7279.
  • Senior Citizen under RA 9994.
  • Indigenous People under RA 8371.

Application Deadline

You can apply for the CHED Scholarship Program until August 15, 2023. Make sure your chosen course aligns with the priority courses, and ensure your documents are complete, with a GWA of at least 93%, to proceed with the online application.

Stipends

For the financial assistance details, refer to CHED Memorandum Order No. 11 series of 2023. The stipend amount varies depending on the type of scholarship and the HEI's academic calendar.

Responsibilities of a CHED Scholar

As a CHED scholar, you must enroll in recognized priority programs at Private Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) or State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) / Local Universities or Colleges (LUCs) with Certificate of Program Compliance.

You must be a regular student and maintain a GWA of at least 85% if you're a full scholar or 80% if you're a half scholar. Failure to maintain the GWA can result in the termination of your scholarship, but you can appeal to CHEDRO for consideration within 15 days of notice.
