## Important MVP limitations
- The model's extracted values can be wrong; verify all amounts and dates before bookkeeping or tax use.
- Image uploads are supported; direct PDF upload and automatic bank/accounting integrations are not implemented yet.
- This is a local single-user prototype, not audited accounting software. Back up `data/records.json` yourself.
- The app does not encrypt the local JSON database. Use normal device encryption and a strong device login for sensitive records.
- The first version stores a record after extraction and opens a review modal. If extraction is cancelled, the draft may already exist with `status: review`; delete it from All Documents if needed.
## Suggested demo flow
1. Open the app and show the local AI status.
2. Upload a sample receipt image or paste sample receipt text.
3. Show extracted fields, edit one field, and save.
4. Show the dashboard and category breakdown.
5. Export CSV.
6. Explain that the open-weight model runs locally and that the prompt/model can be adapted without being locked to a cloud provider.

**Value proposition:** “Turn receipts into an organized, exportable expense log without uploading sensitive financial documents to a third-party AI service.”
