"My website looks modern, so it must be working."
This is one of the most common misunderstandings small business owners have.
Looking good and working well are two different things.
A modern-looking website can still be losing you customers every day.
Here's how.
Maybe it loads slowly on phones.
Most visitors are on their phone. They won't wait.
Maybe the "Contact Us" button is buried at the bottom.
People leave before they find it.
Maybe the homepage talks about your company history instead of what you actually offer.
Visitors don't care yet. They want to know what's in it for them.
Maybe there's no way to track where visitors go, or where they drop off.
You're guessing what's wrong instead of knowing.
None of this shows up when you glance at your own website.
It shows up in the customers who visited and never called.
A website's job isn't to look impressive to you.
Its job is to turn a stranger into a customer.
Those are not the same thing, and a nice design doesn't guarantee the second one.
If your website looks great but the phone isn't ringing, the design was never the problem.
