I cant remeber when the last time was when i entered the Matrix..became one with the script..Initiated and triggered the FLOW!
With LLm driven code everywhere, I had almost lost sight of building -> breaking-> fixing -> validating -> absorbing -> building again cool stuff.
Until now it was more like MEH...English -> press enter -> press copy -> paste -> run terminal...Until NOW.
I have been struggling with only Frontend(REact) for the 2yrs of my career, same ol Use State-> USe Effect-> tailwinding->map/find/slice data->consume api by axios -> Go home-> feel happy u did productive; until you DID NOT! And to top it off all of it was LLm slop generated.
I am being honest with myself here. The 1st time i picked up prog lang(Python) i was building stuff, very slowly and small but yes I was searching for ans and trying out stuff exahusting myslef. But post AI/GPT era i lost sight of building cool projects. Why type code when all can be generated with the click of a button.
As a still growing dev I am here to say that LLM generated slop will only give you the mileage to last another few rounds of you career; eventually you'l be forgotten and obsolete.
As for me I found back my kick. Enter the GOLANG era! the sory of how i came upon Go and adopted it like my brethern is very fascinating for some one like me who drank and ate JS.
Truth is my manager one day comes up and tells me to work on Front end(React specifically) and polish on that.
For some people that might be great advise but NOT for someone like me who re ran Sekiro 6 time with different ending variations. Whcih means I dont back down of a fight naturally!
Hence i pciked up the coolest language (post RUST ofc) there was; and a bit of nudge from the walking God himself "Priemagen" fully unleashed the beast within me.
Currentl its been 2 months and 5 days a week i have been investing avg of 6.5hrs a day in nwritnig GO code bare hand, no copilot/ai suggestions. Did take a few help of claude for raodmap and understanding the absics; but now that we're here on phase where I am writing bare sql query wired with hhtp reqeusts (yup basic gud ol CRUD) with Auth and service layer func.
But mind you its FUN! HELL LOT FUn and i OWN my product now..I know end to end WHY it happend, WHAT could go wrong; HOW to fix it. That right there is OWNERSHIP which is earned from hadn typing code and breaking stuff; not by LLm generted slops.
I'll cover more into my adventures with backend and the stuf i create from scratch. Would keep this channel open for more content. Until then party HARD..code HARDER!
