Hey Dev Community!
I recently completed a freelance side project — a playful and engaging website for my friend’s kids’ entertainment business based in Freiburg, Germany. The project was both fun and challenging, and I wanted to share a few thoughts about the process.
Check it out here: https://wowshow-bw.de/de/
The goal was to create a colorful, mobile-friendly platform that highlights all the interactive event programs — from giant bubble shows and foam cube parties to wool workshops and themed character animations. Since the target audience includes both parents and event planners, I focused on making the UI simple, intuitive, and visually vibrant.
A few things I implemented:
- Full responsive layout (mobile-first design)
- Fast loading with image optimization
- Built on WordPress with a fully custom theme
- SEO-friendly structure with semantic markup
- Easy-to-manage content blocks for future updates
What made this project fun was combining playful design with real technical decisions that support usability and performance. It’s not just a “cute” site — it converts visitors into clients through clear CTAs and structured service pages.
Would love any feedback — especially if you’ve built websites for niche small businesses or similar entertainment/event services!
Thanks for reading!
