Quantum-Lattice Fork 3: replay-proof transactions on a post-quantum chain

Quantum-Lattice (QL) is a proof-of-work chain written in Rust whose transactions are signed with ML-DSA-65 (NIST FIPS 204), a post-quantum signature scheme. This week we're shipping Fork 3, which activates at block 36,450 (expected around Monday).

What changes

Until now a payment was signed over sender || receiver || amount. That is enough to authorise a payment, but nothing ties a signature to one particular moment or chain. Fork 3 closes that gap.

From block 36,450 a payment is signed over:

"QLTX2" || chain_id || sender || receiver || amount || nonce
Enter fullscreen mode Exit fullscreen mode
  • chain_id makes a signature valid on this chain only.
  • nonce is a per-account transaction counter. Each account's transactions must arrive in strict sequence (0, 1, 2, …), so a signed payment can be included exactly once.
  • Nodes now apply a block's transactions all-or-nothing, so one invalid transaction can't leave a block half-applied.

Addresses, balances and keys are untouched. There is no migration and no coins move.

What you need to do

Wallet Action
Browser wallet Nothing. It reads the fork height from the node and switches format automatically at block 36,450.
Windows app Download v0.2.0 and install it. The installer asks you to uninstall the old version first; your keystore file and seed phrase are separate and untouched.
Android app Install the new APK over the old one. Android may show a Play Protect scan: tap Scan, then Install.
Miners and the pool Nothing.

Old wallet versions still show balances and can still receive after the fork, but they cannot send until updated. Your coins are never at risk. To avoid a payment pending across the fork, try not to send in the last few minutes before block 36,450.

Also new

Blocks you mine now appear in your wallet's transaction history (browser, Windows and Android).

As always, keep your keystore file and your 24-word seed phrase backed up. Nobody can recover them for you.
