->*This is a submission for the Hacktoberfest Open-Source AI Challenge Week 3: Slow and Steady
What I Built
I built FocusFlow AI, a simple and responsive productivity web application designed to help students, developers, and busy people manage their daily tasks and improve concentration.
Features include:
- Add, complete, and delete tasks.
- Organize tasks by High, Medium, and Low priority.
- Use a Pomodoro timer with focus sessions and breaks.
- Track completed tasks, focus sessions, and daily progress.
- Get productivity tips through the Focus Coach.
- Switch between light and dark modes.
- Save tasks in the browser using local storage.
FocusFlow AI helps reduce the effort of organizing tasks and makes it easier to focus on one thing at a time.

Technologies used:
- HTML5
- CSS3
- JavaScript
How I Built It
I built FocusFlow AI using HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript.
- HTML provides the structure of the dashboard, task list, and timer.
- CSS creates the responsive design, cards, progress indicators, and dark mode.
- JavaScript handles task management, timer controls, progress calculations, local storage, and productivity suggestions.
I used AI-assisted development to help plan the project, generate ideas, and develop the code.
The current Focus Coach uses predefined JavaScript rules and productivity tips. It does not yet connect to a live AI model or external AI API. Integrating an open-source AI model is a possible future improvement.
Why Does Open Innovation Matter?
Open innovation makes it easier for developers to learn from each other, share ideas, and build useful tools without starting from scratch.
FocusFlow AI is a beginner-friendly open-source project that other developers can explore, customize, and improve. Contributors could add AI-powered recommendations, better analytics, reminders, or new productivity features.
Open collaboration makes technology more accessible and gives beginners an opportunity to learn by building real projects.
My Agent Session
I used AI-assisted development to brainstorm the interface, organize the project structure, and implement the main features.
I worked on connecting the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create an interactive application with task tracking, a Pomodoro timer, and productivity tips.
The project helped me practice frontend development and understand how JavaScript can be used to build practical productivity tools.
The Lazy Payoff
FocusFlow AI keeps task management and focus sessions in one place, reducing the need to switch between different tools.
Instead of manually calculating progress or tracking completed tasks, users can see their progress directly on the dashboard.
The Pomodoro timer also makes it easier to start a focused work session and remember to take breaks.
The time saved will depend on the user's workflow and how consistently they use the application.
