I still often ask myself why we've made all this so complicated. Why do we keep reinventing things that (probably) don't need to be reinvented. But it keeps things interesting and keeps food on the table. π

Back in the days the complexity/layering (like jQuery) had two major advantages (for me):
$('#id')instead ofdocument.getElementById('id').
