Nice write-up! I've no problem developing themes and plugins for WordPress but it feels wrong coding outside of the Composer-sphere. Perhaps it's just a habit thing, but going to Bolt felt so right. I've been doing Bolt 4 since about a month. Composer install is just so nice!
There are currently not that many extensions for it (like WP plugins), but I build my own and plan to make them public when they're finished. These are then installed with Composer as well.
