Have you looked at Joplin? It is also a really nice alternative to Notion, and also Open Source.

Joplin's nice, but sorry it can't beat Notion. Their UI is perfect. :)

Have you got an exec summary on things Notion has the Joplin lacks?

I use Joplin extensively and am very happy. But I have no notion of what Notion does.

I can't give a review since I haven't used Joplin.

Here ya go: youtube.com/watch?v=oTahLEX3NXo
Something to take fromit is that everything in there is built using the same wysiwyg.
You can just type / and select any of those components to embed into the current doc or convert it to a kanban board etc etc.

I don't think Joplin and Notion are the same kind of software to compare. Notion has databases and can turn them into different visualizations and Joplin is an awesome took for note taking. It's great to use it in meetings and classes, but it's not the same. At the same time, I also don't think AppFlowy is an alternative to Notion. I mean, Notion's free plan is a better alternative to Notion than AppFlowy. I think it's gonna take a long time to AppFlowy actually compare itself to Notion.
