AWS Re:Invent 2022 Experience

I know it is pretty late to write a blog about AWS re:invent experience which happened on last year 2022. You know, I got this COVID and I got married later on this January(Yay! congratulations to me). I was super tired and was feeling bad about not writing about the amazing AWS re:Invent.

I think, I should start with how I got the chance to attend the AWS re:Invent. I'm an AWS community Builder, It is program by AWS and we could be a part of this wonderful program and showcase our contribution to AWS and the community. Here is the link to it https://aws.amazon.com/developer/community/community-builders/ where anyone who likes to learn , contribute could apply for the program and be a part of it. There are a lots of perks and gifts awaiting for us by the way. And also, I was an active member of "AWS user group Kochi" which was the start for me.

I got this information about AWS All builders welcome Grant, and I applied for the same. It is a scholarship for the people who have less than 5 years of experience and it is a part of Diversity and Inclusion. The grant covers almost every expense like airfare, accommodation, event ticket and many more. Yeah! it is pretty cool Grant :)

Now we could talk about the AWS re:invent and I was thinking may be it is better if I gave some tips and suggestions about the re:invent. It is always better to reach the venue a little bit earlier so that we could familiarize with locations and keynote areas, workshops etc. Anyway it Vegas so there are much more things to see. It is really important to prioritize the sessions you want to attend. Some of the interesting sessions might be in a long distance or some might be in a walk able distance. It is always better to plan ahead. I got this mistake like I planned a session in Venetian and another session in Mandalay Bay which was far way. I couldn't have my lunch in time. Remember to carry water and snacks in hand if in case. We have water and snack in every corner of the venue by the way.

Keynotes are the important thing in the re:invent that is what I felt anyway. It really important to come early and be in the line to get accommodated. The crowd is so big so we might not get admitted if we are too late. But we have opportunity to watch online. Some people say, we can watch all these sessions in online so why should we go in-person. Yes, it is true that we can view all these sessions in online/YouTube. But it is totally different in person, I think we will not get the entire feel, ambience, people's energy and surroundings. It is so wonderful and words can't describe it. We will get a lot of opportunity to meet some amazing people, could hear their experience and they will definitely going to share their knowledge which is main thing. So I strongly recommend people to go in-person and experience this event.

Since I went for the event via grant, I got some additional privileges like, reserved seat which was in the first row for the keynotes and could witness the mesmerizing music. Especially I enjoyed the violin one which was super good. Also, one of the other interesting things are the booths. There are a lot of booths for the different technologies, companies and we could go and meet them and they will give us some amazing goodies :D There are some AWS booth and I could finally meet the Outpost who was making some headache for me. But it was some pretty meet-up with outpost. The workshops, games, sessions everything was so perfect. Finally the re:Play, it was totally different experience so much energy, music, food.

I couldn't be there or be a part of this community if there is no such mentor like Dijeesh in my life. He was there for me to guide and taught me many things. He is the Container Hero from India (we are so proud of him) so you all can understood that how cool he is!!

A blog wouldn't be enough if I have to explain everything, if anyone is reading this, they should go and be a part of the event. It is definitely worth it and it would be a great addition to your professional life. Yeah! That's it :)
