OpenAI Says It Will Build Humanoid Robots Next

Big AI news from OpenAI this week.

Sam Altman says OpenAI will definitely build humanoid robots. In a new interview, he shared a bigger dream too. He believes everyone should have a personal robot someday. One that handles the tasks you hate doing.

This is not just talk. OpenAI is already hiring for its robotics team. The job listings mention robot data collection, hardware work, and training systems. So something real is being built behind the scenes.

Why would a software company want to build a body?

Because a robot gives AI a way to learn from the real world. Every time a robot picks up a cup or opens a door, it learns how physical stuff works. That data is gold for making smarter models.

There is a catch though. OpenAI will not be alone in this race. Tesla is working on its Optimus robot. And Figure is already one step ahead. So this fight is just getting started.

Software is eating the world. Now it wants to walk in it.

No release dates yet, and no photos of a prototype. Just a clear signal that the next big battle in AI might not happen on your screen. It might happen in your living room.

My take? The chatbot race is almost settled. The robot race is wide open. And OpenAI does not like arriving late.
