I’ve been playing around with librecloud.host for a few small projects and it’s been pretty solid so far. Uploads are quick, and I like that I can host both static and dynamic stuff without jumping through hoops. The UI took a minute to get used to, but once I got the hang of it, things flowed smoothly. Worth trying if you’re just testing ideas or building something light.

That’s a solid point! 🌍 I’ve noticed the same—location really does impact load times, especially on free hosts. Some are great for testing, but yeah, those limits on databases or custom domains can get frustrating real quick. Curious—which free hosts have worked best for you so far?

Great list of free hosting options for a range of projects! For those interested in a balance between flexibility and scalability without the typical restrictions of free hosting, it’s worth noting that platforms like Cloudways provide an affordable alternative with more robust infrastructure. While not free, Cloudways offers managed hosting on cloud providers like AWS and Google Cloud, which supports both static and dynamic sites with full control over resources, security, and performance. For larger projects or businesses looking to scale up, it’s an option to consider as they grow from these free solutions. Thanks for sharing these insights!

Thank you so much for the kind words and for sharing that recommendation! 🙌 Cloudways is definitely a great option for those ready to scale beyond free hosting, offering more control and performance on top-tier cloud platforms. 🌐🚀 It’s a fantastic bridge for projects moving towards larger, more robust infrastructure. Appreciate you adding value to the discussion! 😊

If you’re testing new ideas or need something quick and lightweight, a lot of these free hosts do the job fine. I’ve used a few like Neocities and Netlify for static sites and they’re super simple, but I always hit a wall when I needed more control or privacy. That’s when I started looking for services without surveillance or heavy restrictions. If you care about data privacy and not having to share personal info just to host a project, you can check out this iceland privacy web hosting. I switched to it for a side blog and liked that you don’t need to submit anything for ID, gives you real control.

Great options! If I could mention: AWS Amplify is very nearly free. Static files can be hosted for ~50 cents a month and can be set to auto deploy for any number of git branches.

Nice Post! I would also recommend shiper.app which is a new CI/CD solution do deploy your stuff on. And has also nicely integrated databases!

Awesome review!

It would be great to have Wasmer's Hosting platform reviewed as well: Static Web Hosting or WordPress.
