About WeDidIt
WeDidIt is a non-profit organization devoted to leaving the planet better than we found it. With over 10,000 young volunteers driven by a shared passion for change, WeDidIt has already transformed countless lives. Their most remarkable achievement is funding the education of 100 girls in rural India.
Founded by Sree Krishna Seelam, the author of 5 Killer Habits, WeDidIt began its mission during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Despite global uncertainty, the organization’s efforts flourished, earning the prestigious Economic Times Excellence in Social Entrepreneurship Award by 2021.
“For most people, their greatest happiness comes from helping others. Volunteering doesn’t just benefit others — it brings a profound sense of fulfillment to the volunteers themselves.”
The Symbiotic Relationship
The secret to WeDidIt’s success lies in its symbiotic approach: its initiatives benefit both the causes it supports and the volunteers who participate. Volunteers gain leadership skills, life-changing experiences, and the satisfaction of contributing to meaningful projects. Meanwhile, the organization continues to expand its reach and impact through community-driven efforts.
How Volunteers Contributed to 5 Killer Habits
One unique aspect of WeDidIt’s volunteer program was the involvement of volunteers in the creation of 5 Killer Habits. They interviewed elderly individuals, seeking wisdom from their life experiences, which enriched the book with authentic, heartfelt insights.
As a philanthropist, founder and author Sree Krishna Seelam has committed to donating all proceeds from 5 Killer Habits to WeDidIt, further supporting its initiatives.
WeDidIt’s Initiatives
Some of the impactful projects led by WeDidIt include:
Cleaning Rivers: Volunteers work tirelessly to restore natural water bodies.
Supporting Farmers: Programs aimed at providing essential resources and assistance to farmers.
Recycling Used Books: Giving books a new life to promote education and sustainability.
Organizing Marathons: Events that raise awareness and funds for various causes.
New Frontiers
What this avant-garde NGO from India has accomplished is exceptional, and they do not plan on stopping anytime soon. The NGO recently launched its first AI-supported initiative to make legal services accessible and hassle-free for everyone. In addition, two new books are in the works, focusing on mental health and self-care, promising to continue their tradition of inspiring and empowering readers.
Be the Change
What started as a small effort to give back to society has grown into a thriving community of future leaders. The achievements of WeDidIt are exceptional, and the organization shows no signs of slowing down.
Their question to you is, “WeDidIt, will you?”
