🛠️What I Built
The Network of Open-Witnesses (NOW) app is a new kind of federated RSS feed aggregation that incorporates forum discussions, user profiles, and live streams and video uploads of live events & reactions for trusted Open-Witnesses. The goal is to incentive active news verification and coordination between citizens globally. It is a offline-first, SOLID, solid+astro application in beta with basic abilities for demo.

The Story Behind It
The everyday news of abject diplomatic failure of our developed nations strains fresh teares from my heart at every mention. Our species is sick, sick from information. The idea came to me around the time that the leader of the Free World decided to encourage guerrilla warfare-like tactics against citizens. I discovered the propierary Citizens app and was relieved the model was tried before and just wondered what if it were not-for-profit? Then I stumbled onto this challenge and Mux and decided to give this a shot.
Technical Highlights
- Astro - As a meta-framework, Astro is unbeatable in html templating.
- Solid - Solid is a fine-grained reactivity ui-model that I admire for its performance.
- Effect-ts - Effect thinks the way I do and makes it hard to write bad code.
- TypeScript - Because I'm on the internet.
