Why I Built Vanigaa: A Simple POS and Inventory Management Solution for Small Businesses

As developers, we often build software for startups, enterprises, and online businesses. But one segment is frequently overlooked: local small businesses.

Over the past few years, I've worked with various business owners, including retail stores, wholesalers, and service providers. One common challenge I noticed was that many of them still relied on notebooks, spreadsheets, or multiple disconnected tools to manage their daily operations.

They needed a way to:

  • Generate invoices quickly
  • Track inventory in real time
  • Manage customers and suppliers
  • View sales reports without complicated setup
  • Access their business data from anywhere

The existing solutions were often too expensive, overly complex, or packed with features that small businesses rarely used.

This observation led me to build Vanigaa.

That mindset influenced every decision made while building Vanigaa.
