Capture real Mac and iOS apps, create clean screenshots, record preview videos, and generate App Store-ready images. All from one lightweight macOS utility.

App Capture ProYou’ve finished developing your app. It works, looks good, and is ready for the App Store.

Almost.

Now comes the surprisingly tedious part: preparing screenshots, preview videos, and promotional images in exactly the formats Apple expects.

Different resolutions. Different devices. Window shadows. Scaling. Video trimming. And another round of image editing.

App Capture Pro was built to make that process easier.

Capture the App, Not Your Desktop

Traditional screenshot tools capture whatever is on your screen. That often means manually cropping the window, removing shadows, resizing the image, and fitting it onto a background.

App Capture Pro takes a more direct approach.

Select a running Mac app or iOS Simulator window, choose your target size, and capture it directly.

The app lets you:

  • Capture individual application windows without the surrounding desktop.
  • Remove window shadows automatically.
  • Choose macOS, iPhone, and iPad output presets.
  • Adjust the captured window’s scale and position.
  • Select a clean background color.
  • Export flattened PNG images at the selected resolution. You see how the window fits before capturing, so there’s less trial and error.

iPhone and iPad Screenshots, Too

App Capture Pro isn’t limited to macOS applications.

It also works with Apple’s iOS Simulator, allowing developers to prepare screenshots for iPhone and iPad apps directly on their Mac.

The application includes device-specific presets, including newer iPhone display configurations such as Dynamic Island and Duo.

For example, the recommended iPhone screenshot preset uses 1206 × 2622 pixels.

When capturing a Simulator window, App Capture Pro keeps the device screen while removing the Simulator’s title bar.

That means less cropping, fewer adjustments, and a more predictable result.

New: App Store Header and Search Images

The latest update adds another useful capability: generating header and search artwork for iOS App Store submissions.

Instead of opening a graphics editor and manually preparing multiple versions, you can create the artwork directly in App Capture Pro.

The workflow is intentionally simple:

  • Enter one line of text.
  • Choose a background.
  • Add a picture.
  • Export the three PNG sizes specified by Apple for this artwork. The exported images have no transparency, so there’s no additional alpha-channel cleanup.

It’s a focused feature designed for developers who need compliant artwork without building a complete design project around it.

Record App Preview Videos

Screenshots are useful, but sometimes your app needs motion to explain what it does.

App Capture Pro can record the selected application or Simulator window and turn that recording into a preview video.

After recording, you can:

  • Play and pause the video.
  • Scrub through the recording.
  • Navigate using a thumbnail strip.
  • Trim the beginning and end.
  • Check the final duration.
  • Export a resized H.264 MP4 file. No separate video editor is needed for basic trimming and export.

Real Apps, Not Artificial Mockups

App Capture Pro is deliberately not a marketing template generator.

It doesn’t wrap screenshots in decorative device frames or generate imaginary interfaces.

Instead, it focuses on capturing the actual software your customers will use.

This is particularly useful for developers who want clean, consistent App Store media without spending hours in design applications.

Everything Stays on Your Mac

App Capture Pro processes screenshots and recordings locally.

There’s no cloud upload, no account, and no analytics.

Your app screens, test data, and recordings remain on your machine.

The application itself is approximately 2 MB, keeping things lightweight.

From Finished App to App Store Listing

A typical workflow becomes straightforward:

Capture → Position → Preview → Export.

For videos, add a quick trimming step.

For App Store header and search artwork, add your text, background, and picture.

Instead of switching between screenshot tools, graphics editors, and video converters, you can handle these tasks in one place.

And that’s the point: developers should spend their time building better apps, not repeatedly resizing screenshots.
