I’m excited to be part of the open-source community this Hacktoberfest! 🌍💻
As a student and aspiring developer, I believe open source is one of the best ways to learn, collaborate, and build real-world skills.
I’m also registered for the Hacktoberfest Meetup at Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, on October 23, 2026, hosted by the AWS Student Builder Group at LPU.
🎯 What I Want to Learn
Through Hacktoberfest, I want to:
- 🌱 Understand how open-source contributions work.
- 🔀 Learn more about Git, GitHub, branches, commits, and pull requests.
- 🛠️ Explore real-world repositories and find projects to contribute to.
- 🤝 Connect with developers and learn from their experiences.
- 💡 Improve my coding skills by contributing to meaningful projects.
💻 Why Open Source?
Open source isn’t just about writing code. It’s about learning together, sharing knowledge, collaborating with developers worldwide, and contributing to something bigger than ourselves.
I’m looking forward to taking my first steps, exploring interesting projects, and becoming a more active member of the developer community.
🚀 Let’s Connect!
If you’re participating in Hacktoberfest 2026, I’d love to hear from you!
What advice would you give someone getting started with open source?
Let’s learn, build, and contribute together! 🌟
