Hi !
Super quick post today, with a very simple scenario:
Load and image and remove the background.
To do this, I’ll use OpenCV and cvzone. Here we can see a screenshot of my office, and the removed background sample. As usual, the threshold is the important one to manage the quality.
And the sample code:

import cv2 | |
import cvzone | |
from cvzone.SelfiSegmentationModule import SelfiSegmentation
segmentor = SelfiSegmentation()
# read image | |
imgOffice = cv2.imread('office.jpg')
#resize office to 640x480
imgOffice = cv2.resize(imgOffice, (640, 480))
green = (0, 255, 0) | |
imgNoBg = segmentor.removeBG(imgOffice, green, threshold=0.50)
# show both images | |
cv2.imshow('office',imgOffice)
cv2.imshow('office no bg',imgNoBg)
cv2.waitKey(0) | |
cv2.destroyAllWindows() |
In next samples, I’ll show to work with this and the camera, and even replace the bacground 😀.
Happy coding!
